Checking the corners other guys cut, since 2021.
Crickets arrive in numbers when the ground cools, drawn by exterior lighting. These guides cover the season, the lights and the gaps.

Cricket, in short.
Cricket problems are seasonal and they are largely about light. Porch fixtures, security lighting and landscape uplighting gather field crickets against a building through the evening, exactly when falling ground temperatures are pushing them to look for somewhere warmer. Garage door corners and slab gaps do the rest.
What gets written here is about timing and about fittings, because changing a bulb or a timer often does more than another application would, and it keeps doing it every autumn.
There is also a timing argument that gets missed. Cricket pressure is not a year-round problem to be managed continuously, it is a few weeks in late summer and autumn when the ground cools and the flights start. Work done in the fortnight before that window is worth several times the same work done after it, and most of what we write here is about recognising the window rather than reacting once the noise has started.
