Frequently asked

Questions, answered plainly.

If you don't see yours, call (817) 665-6527 or text us, a human will answer.

General Pest Control starts at $49/month, serviced quarterly, for a typical DFW home of 2,000–3,000 sq ft. Larger homes, acreage, or homes with active infestation may price higher. You can see your exact price in about 60 seconds at quote.forterrapestcontrol.com, no phone call, no credit card.

Quarterly, four visits per year, roughly every 90 days. Each visit is a full Zero Gap System treatment with reporting. If you see a pest between visits, text us and we come back free.

Yes. We do take every precaution and then some to protect your loved ones. The products we used are designed to eliminate little bugs. However, all the products we use are EPA-registered for use in and around homes. Furthermore, your family is actually why the Zero Gap System is so important: we reduce the likelihood bugs get inside and thus reduce the interior treatments that are needed. Anytime we apply a product you will receive, in our report, a list of the product we use. And you can always discuss any concerns with your technician.

No, you're not required to sign a long-term contract. Our default service contract term is 12 months. In exchange for committing to 12 months, we typically offer healthy discounts on your initial service (typically $200). If you don't want to be locked into a contract, we can simply not provide any discounts and you can pay full price for your initial service. In that situation, you are in a month-to-month contract. One nice thing is that after the initial 12-month contract term, your services continue as-is on a month-to-month basis. If you took the initial service discount and need to cancel prior to completing the 12-month contract term, we just ask that you pay back those initial service discounts.

Honest answer: it depends on the problem. A one-time service can knock down an active infestation, but it won't keep pests from coming back, DFW pest pressure is year-round, and the bugs outside your walls never stop trying to get in. Quarterly service is what actually keeps pests out long-term, because each visit seals more entry points and intercepts the next season's pressure before it builds. If you only want a one-time cleanout, we'll do it honestly and tell you what to expect, but we believe that a quarterly service is a better value given the coverage you get. But, being completely honest, it will cost more money throughout the year most likely. But you'll just be getting a lot more. One-time services tend to make sense if your budget doesn't allow for the quarterly plan or you are renting / or in a temporary location.

Text us. We come back and re-treat free, as many times as it takes. That's the Forterra Guarantee in practice. If we're not able to remedy a pest issue after 3 re-service attempts, we'll refund your last payment - no questions asked.

Every single pest control company will take the time to go around and spray the chemicals. But no one (that we know of) takes the time to physically seal out the pests. Forterra uses physical barriers to prevent pests from getting in. We're not just spraying chemicals, which can break down or be applied incorrectly. We use products such as copper mesh, silicone, and caukl to make sure pests stay where they belong: outside.

Rodent coverage in the general pest plan is primarily preventive in nature and typically not a full solution for an interior rodent issue. So, what's included in the General Pest plan? One bait station, maintained on each quarterly service. Trapping on the interior if you have rodents on the inside. Included pest proofing of gaps that are smaller than the size of a golf ball AND do not require a ladder to reach. If you are dealing with a rodent issue where there's a hole that is larger than a golf ball or is difficult to reach, you will need to pay for an exclusion service, which is priced separately by the technician. If you choose not to move forward with the exclusion, that's totally OK, but we would no longer provide a rodent warranty on your home through this plan.

Limited rodent prevention is included (see above). Termites and mosquitoes are separate services, Termite Control (from $29/mo) and Mosquito Control (from $52/mo). We break them out so you only pay for what you actually need.
