Overview What is Forterra's General Pest Control service?

Forterra General Pest Control is a quarterly residential pest service for the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, starting at $49/month. Every visit is delivered using the proprietary Zero Gap System™, a treatment method that identifies and seals pest entry points with copper mesh, silicone, and caulk instead of relying on chemicals alone. The service covers over 50 of the most common DFW pests, including ants, roaches, spiders, scorpions, wasps, crickets, fleas, and rats and mice. Forterra rotates products and strategies based on the season to prevent pest resistance and re-treats free between maintenance visits if pests return. All services are backed by the Forterra Money-Back Guarantee and performed under Texas Pest Control License TPCL #850046. Does not include termites, mosquitoes, squirrels or wildlife.

What it is

A perimeter service built to keep the bugs where they belong: outside.

General Pest Control is our foundational quarterly service. A Forterra technician, the same one, ideally, every visit, treats the exterior perimeter of your home: the foundation line, eaves, windows, doors, utility penetrations, garage, and yard zones where pests stage before they get inside.

Treatment is only half of it. The rest is exclusion: finding and sealing the gaps that act as highways for pests. Weep holes, gas-line and AC penetrations, gaps around door sweeps, unscreened vents. We use copper mesh, silicone, and sealant-grade caulk, materials that stay with the house whether you remain a customer or not.

Because we treat the outside thoroughly, we almost never need to spray the inside. That's better service and a better-protected home.

  • Included every visit: Full Zero Gap inspection · active issue resolution · written service summary
  • Between visits: See a pest? Text us. We re-treat free.
  • Not included: Termites, mosquitoes, those are separate services so you only pay for what you need.

How it works, The Zero Gap System™

Spray and pray is easy. Sealing is forever.

Every pest that gets inside your home came through a gap, a gas line penetration, an unsealed weep hole, a worn door sweep. Most companies spray a band and leave. We find the gaps and close them, one visit at a time. Whatever we seal stays sealed, even if you fire us tomorrow.

What your tech actually does on a typical Forterra general pest visit. Every visit is 20–30 minutes and follows the same six-zone pass, so nothing gets skipped between techs or seasons. Numbers on the diagram match the 6 Zones below.
  1. 01

    Inspect the perimeter.

Your tech walks all 6 zones, foundation, eaves, entry points, doors/windows, garage, yard, and logs what they find. They're then able to customize the treatment.

    ~5 min
  2. 02

    Treat where pests stage.

Perimeter treatment at the foundation, eave sweep, targeted spot treatments in high-pressure zones. We use the minimum effective product, not the maximum billable volume.

    ~10 min · exterior-first
  3. 03

    Seal a gap. Every visit.

This is the part everyone else skips. Copper mesh in weep holes. Silicone around utility penetrations. Fresh caulk where the old stuff failed. It's slower. It's better. And it stays with your house forever.

    ~10 min · materials included
  4. 04

    Report & follow up.

Before we leave: detailed report of what was treated, what was sealed, and what we identified for next visit. See a pest between services? Text us. We come back free.

Seasonal notes

DFW pest pressure by month.

North Texas has a long pest season, it never stops, although it does slow down during the colder months. But for those who have lived here know how crazy the weather can get. 70 degrees in January? No problem. Our quarterly treatment schedule adjusts to the pest pressures we deal with during that time of year.

When to start: Any time, but new customers who start in January–March typically see the smoothest first summer. Mid-summer starts still work (we just treat a little harder on visit one).

Frequently asked

Questions, answered plainly.

If you don't see yours, call (817) 665-6527 or text us, a human will answer.

General Pest Control starts at $49/month, serviced quarterly, for a typical DFW home of 2,000–3,000 sq ft. Larger homes, acreage, or homes with active infestation may price higher. You can see your exact price in about 60 seconds at quote.forterrapestcontrol.com, no phone call, no credit card.

Quarterly, four visits per year, roughly every 90 days. Each visit is a full Zero Gap System treatment with reporting. If you see a pest between visits, text us and we come back free.

Yes. Every product we use is EPA-registered for use in and around homes, applied to label by licensed technicians. Your family is also why the Zero Gap System matters, since fewer bugs inside means fewer interior treatments. After each visit the report lists exactly what was applied and where, and your technician will talk through any concern.

No. The default agreement runs 12 months, and committing typically earns around $200 off the initial service. Skip the discount and you are month to month from day one. After the initial 12 months every account continues month to month anyway, and canceling early after taking the discount just means paying those initial savings back.

It depends on the problem. A one-time service knocks down an active infestation but does nothing about next season, and DFW pressure never stops. Quarterly service seals more entry points each visit and intercepts each wave early, which is why it wins on value. One-time work makes sense for renters, temporary homes and tight budgets, and we do it honestly either way.

Text us. We come back and re-treat free, as many times as it takes. That's the Forterra Guarantee in practice. If we're not able to remedy a pest issue after 3 re-service attempts, we'll refund your last payment - no questions asked.

Every pest company sprays. Almost nobody physically seals pests out, and that is the difference. Forterra backs the chemistry with physical barriers, copper mesh, silicone and caulk fitted to each opening, so the result does not depend on a product that can break down or get applied wrong. Pests stay where they belong, outside.

It is preventive coverage, not a full interior rodent solution. The plan includes one exterior bait station maintained each quarterly visit, interior trapping when rodents show up, and pest-proofing of gaps smaller than a golf ball that need no ladder. Bigger or harder-to-reach openings call for a separately priced exclusion service, and declining that ends the plan's rodent warranty.

Limited rodent prevention is included (see above). Termites and mosquitoes are separate services, Termite Control (from $29/mo) and Mosquito Control (from $52/mo). We break them out so you only pay for what you actually need.
