No. The old story is a myth; earwigs have no interest in ears and do not burrow or lay eggs in people. What they can do is pinch with the rear forceps if handled, hard enough to be felt and occasionally break skin, but there is no venom. They are a nuisance and a garden pest that eats plants and other insects, not a danger.
